Former Wildcats Shine on Gridiron


The success of Millbrook Basketball alumni extends well beyond the boundaries of the court. Three former Wildcats are currently playing Division-I football in the SEC, American, and MEAC Conference's.

Sam Blue (2010-2014) • North Carolina A&T

The 6'1 250 defensive lineman lettered twice for the Wildcats, scoring 2.8 points per contest, and helping lead the team to two Cap-8 Conference Championship. Millbrook qualified for the Eastern Regional Finals during Sam's senior campaign.

Blue recorded three tackles, including a sack in North Carolina A&T's victory over Charlotte this past week. Through three weeks, the redshirt-junior has nine tackles, two for sacks, and a fumble recovered. The 3-0 Aggies are at Morgan State this upcoming week.

Reid Herring (2012-13, 2014-15) • East Carolina University

Herring, a redshirt-freshman for the Pirates lettered once for the Wildcats, and helped lead Millbrook to a conference championship, and a 26-3 record in 2014-15. A 6'3 shooting guard on the court, Herring averaged 1.8 points per game at the Varsity level.

Saturday marked Herring's first career collegiate appearance as East Carolina fell at home to Virginia Tech. Millbrook Football's all-time leading passer played the offense's final two series, and recorded one rush for a yard. The Pirates are on the road at UCONN this Saturday.

Kengera Daniel (2010-2013) • Kentucky

"KG" Daniel played lettered once as a junior, and appeared in two varsity games as a sophomore at Millbrook. Now a 6'5 250 lb. lineman at Kentucky, Daniel has appeared in two games this season, recording his only two tackles of the season in week one at Southern Miss. The Wildcats take its 3-0 record back home on Saturday to host the Florida Gators.
